Well, Zach Britton continues to do well. I wonder how long itll be before he gets a promotion. Will it take Matusz being shut down before the season is over due to IP limits? I hope not, he deserves a promotion, but the O's FO may have plans to keep him in Fredrick the entire season and allow him to gain more confidence, especially if he continues to pitch as he has.....

His K/9 is still hovering right around 9 which is good to see, I really would like to see him get the BB/9 arounud 3 again though....

He gave up 4 ER though 7 today. So, it was a mixed but decent start.

I think he did alright. I mean he did have a 13-2 GB-FB ratio, and he did go 7 innings which has been one of his two major knocks, the other is the high BB ratio.

Zach had a very difficult first inning today with the two walks and the hit batter. You can't escape facing a veteran lineup without getting hit hard as he gave up a few more runs later in the outing. Command-wise, good to see him walk just one the rest of the way.

One thing about Britton's walk's this season. As Richie Hebner's pointed out, the walks he's issuing are good walks. He's not stringing three of them together, but they're coming one in the first inning, another in the third, one in the sixth. They're not harming him offensively as much as a string of them together would, but the number is up and Britton's been frustrated about that all throughout the year. He's been squeezed on a few calls, but so has every pitcher in the Carolina League this season in the tightest strikezones I've ever seen this year.
