This is brief, but worth noting IMO.
Nick Young
Averaged 23.8 PPG, while shooting 50% from the field, 40% from 3, and 88% for the foul line.
His most impressive game was in the opener against Cleveland, where he dropped 36 points, on 13-19 shooting, including 5 three balls.
I think a lot of the competition was probably a bit below Nick's level, but still very nice totals for the 4 games.
Javale McGee
Averaged 17.3 PPG to go with 6.3 RPG and 4 BPG. Encouraging to me was that he shot 77% from the line, significantly better than his 66% he shot for the season in his Rookie year.
Also, if you subract out Javale's first game, which he seemed to really struggle in, his line becomes significantly more impressive. 20.67 PPG 6.67 RPG 5.33 BPG, and a 94% (16/17) mark from the foul line.
Javale's most impressive game was in the finale, where he posted 31 and 8 against the Knicks. He also added 4 blocks.
Andray Blatche
Andray averaged a double double in the 3 games he played, with 19.7 and 11. He nearly had a double double in each game, missing it by 2 rebounds in his final game.
His best performance came against Denver, where he had 27 and 15, with 8 of those rebounds being on the offensive end.
So obviously the Summer League is an insanely small sample size, and the skill level is significantly lower than in the regular season, but I thought it was nice to see a few of our young guys put up very solid lines. In addition, each player had a game in which they were basically dominant.
Once again, take it for what it's worth, but I'm just attempting to put a positive spin on the upcoming season. Go Wizards!
