Infraction Message

When/If someone gets an infraction from the "higher-ups" it'd be nice to know just exactly and specifically what for instead of receiving some generic message.

When I got mine, I kinda sorta understood what they were for, but I know what you mean.

Just always assumed it's what Sheila E. was talking about with that line about "if you have to ask you can't afford it lingerie"

When I got mine, I was told exactly what I did and how I should correct it. They were very direct with me.

But, I must say that what I did, I see others doing it every day. Maybe because I'm still a newbie....but I'm ok with it. Maybe I have to pay my dues?

I will follow the rules, as I want to keep posting and stay on the good side of the mods.

The one time I got an infraction I pretty much knew what it was about but not quite sure if it fit, so I simply sent Greg a message. He responded pretty quickly with the reasoning, which made sense and I apologized for it.

I have a bunch lately... :o Some are generic and others are very specific. I guess it depends on the situation.

It's not some generic message. The reason (while perhaps not specific enough for your standards) is always indicated.

Do these infractions ever disappear btw? Or do they just keep chilling at the top of your rep area forever?

Because... it's kinda disheartening to see it there all the time. I thought eventually it would disappear (especially since it was minor).

I don't like it sitting there. It's like it's taunting me.

Yes, it stays on your permanent record. The 'points' however usually expire after a week or two.

Oh, yeah. I know. I meant above my rep in the screen I go to that shows me who repped me and what they said. I used to go there fairly often (before I realized you could click your own little rep icon and it would show you what you had) to see if I had any new rep.

So now the only time I go there is to see who left me rep and what they said. So it's not so bad. Just, like I said, kinda a taunting reminder to me whenever I check. :)

On the black headline bar, all the way over is an arrow facing up. If you click on that, it'll hide the infractions box. If you use the same browser on the same computer, the box will stay hidden.
