I pick NY.

I know its sad to say but I'd love to see the Yankees trounce the Sawx in the ALCS, it might take away some of the annoiyingness in Red Sox Nation, its just gotten so bad this century. But as I've done my whole life, if the Orioles aren't in it, I root for the Dodgers. So go LAD!

I would love to see the Angels take it this year. After all they've been through with losing their teammate and having injuries to most of their top players, it would be awesome to see them win it all and celebrate together. :)

Rooting for the Dodgers but really, I see the Yankees winning.

Ughh as painful as it is the Yankees. I guess when you spend $423 Million dollars you get something right?

Dodgers are going to take it.

I'd prefer LA to take it. I want a big market team to win and I don't want it to be the yanks or Sox. I figure if the Orioles don't win it, I'd rather the big spenders win it as proof that something has to be done with the revenue structure in baseball.

Dodgers......FBT. I would love to see GS get a WS ring......now that would be absolutely sweet.

The toilets in the Yankee clubhouse have a sign... "Don't eat the big white mint."

7. Philadelphia Phillies $113,004,048 $4,185,335

9. Los Angeles Dodgers $100,458,101 $4,018,324

Point taken, but it seems to me that it is statistically relevant (is that the word I want here?) that 44% of the top 9 teams in payroll made the playoffs. So it doesn't assure a playoff spot, but it sure seems to make it a whole lot easier to get one.

Plus, I can't root for the Sox or yanks, and I'd like to see GS get a ring.

No, if anything I agree with your main point except for the part about the Yankees winning it all proving anything that the payroll rankings of the playoff teams wouldn't.
