Note: I posted this almost exact same thread a year ago at this time, so I figured I'd do it again! The NBA is my second favorite league (behind MLB) and the Lakers are my second favorite team (behind the Orioles). Anyway, as some of you know I tend to get a tad reactionary with the Lakers (see my Lakers/Rockets thread last year's playoffs) so bear with me this year...
Well, it's that time of the year again.
The happiness that was the NBA Finals is almost fully died down (although I had to re-read the Finals thread last year to restart the juices) so I figured I'd offer my predictions for this season:

Why are you including all those teams?
Lakers, Celtics, Magic, Spurs, and Cavs.....Those are the teams in the top tier that are the only 5 teams that have a chance at the Championship.
The second tier is teams like Dallas, Houston, Wash, who are just above average teams playing out the string with no shot.
Lower tier is just, whatever.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I could name 5 teams in MLB and the NFL as well and have about a 90% chance of having one of them win it all...

OK, baseball I give you, but give the 5 NFL teams that have a 90% chance of winning the Super Bowl. Anyone who said that the Cardinals would be in the Super Bowl at the beginning of last season would have been called a fool. Anyone saying the Broncos are 6-0 at this point would have been called a fool. Hmmm, lets give it a try:
Colts
Patriots
Steelers
Vikings
Giants
????
What about the Saints, Broncos, Ravens, Cardinals, Falcons ... the NFL is way more difficult to predict.
Ravenbird is right about the top-heavyness of the NBA. Doesn't mean we can't enjoy the season unfolding. Though give me college basketball any day.
BTW, Pedro, weren't you the one giving me all kinds of hell for being a Steeler fan in Fairfax? You are a Laker fan in Maryland? Whats up with that? At least my dad grew up in Bellvue, north side of the Burg!:D

I just love him so much...Hmm, I guess I meant Phoenix...Grant Hill!!!
I think the Celtics and Spurs may be the best teams in the league on paper(Lakers are right there as well), but both have big question marks concerning health and age. To a lesser degree there's the question of how their new acquisitions will fit in.
