LORD HAVE MERCY, but just how many times does it need to be pointed out to people that it is NOT the Rule V Draft? It is the Rule 5 Draft, and they are NOT NOT NOT NOT the same thing.
The "regular" amateur draft is the "Rule 4 Draft." It is NOT NOT NOT the Rule IV Draft. Just how stupid do people need to be to not get it after it's been pointed out to them about a million times????!!!!!

So V isn't the Roman numeral for 5? It isn't okay to call World War 2, WWII? I'm confused.
Can I call it the Rule Cinco Draft?

Since this obviously disturbs you, how about filling us all in on what the difference between the Rule V and Rule 5 draft is? And if there is NO Rule V draft, then in my view, there is nothing wrong with calling the Rule 5 draft the Rule V draft! So please enlighten us.

Even though it is the Rule 5 draft, the term Rule V is used synonymously and is understood.

On MLB radio, they said they don't want it confused with the Super Bowl using the Roman numeral..they said it.

Good thing they cleared that up, because when I saw that today was the Rule V draft, I started calling friends and family because I thought the Big Game was tonight! Luckily MLB set me straight before I made a silly mistake!

I'm still waiting to figure out what the Rule V draft is, since it apparently is not, not, not, not the same thing as the Rule 5 draft. More importantly, when does the Rule V draft take place?
Wait -- does the Rule V draft take place the same day as the Super Bowl, or does it happen immediately after the Rule U draft? Or are all three events the same day?
I'm lost....somebody help :confused::noidea::o
