Winfield was drafted by the Orioles in 1969.
Cecil Fielder was drafted by the Orioles in 1981.
Do you guys know of any other noteable players who were drafted and didn't sign with Baltimore?

Mussina in '87 before the O's drafted him again in '90.
Glenn Davis in '79.
Michael Young in '94.
Cliff Lee in '98.

Winfield blew my mind. I wonder how that would have altered the course of Orioles history had we been able to sign him.

You mean we could have kept Finley, Harnish, and Schilling and STILL had Davis?

In 1976, we might've had an outfield of Reggie, Singleton and Winfield. That would've been sweet to see.
Dick Ruthven was another DNS from 1969 (20th round).
