Hey all,

I have a first generation iPod Touch that I've been having some difficulties with as of late. I've noticed that there's a lot of songs that will abruptly stop playing and that my iPod will get "confused" and fastforward to the next song after a couple seconds. The weird thing is, if I fastforward to another point in the song, it'll work like a charm.

This is happening with a lot of the songs on my iPod, and suffice to say, it's frustrating to stop what I'm doing and fastforward to a later point in the song. Also, I should note that my iPod can get "caught up" at any point in the song. It can happen towards the beginning of the song or it can happen towards the end.

Anyway, I'm at a total loss. Is my iPod just dying (and I should look to get a new one)? Or could something else be at play here? I'd hate to go out and spend a couple hundred dollars on a new one if there's a simpler fix.

Thanks for your assistance on this matter. Any help would be much appreciated and rep will be given freely. :)

This place is a wealth of Apple info.

Edit. Mroogle searches MacRumors.com which has answered every apple question I've had so far.

i would perform a factory reset on your IPOD and reload your music and see if that corrects the issue.

My experience with smart phones is that they act quirky when loaded anywhere close to their onboard memory limit. Maybe a iPod Touch is similar.

If so, try deleting something.

This...

Then before you get the music back on, update the software on it.

Did you by anychance Jailbreak your Ipod?:leaving:

That can cause those types of problems.... Not that I would ever do such a thing, but I've heard rumors.....
