0-3 by last count. Is this normal?

I'm a little worried we might have messed up the team's "mojo." Does this happen from time to time after a player (or two) is dealt? :(

Chemistry is a big deal in hockey...just ask Detroit.

Think about it in this way, the Caps haven't won a game since they lost their Captain. I bet we see the new captain named by Tuesday.

Also, the PP needs to score!

It's a lot of coincidence. The first game Theodore was HORRIBLE. Gave up 3 goals on 9 shots to start the game. The second you have a rookie starting on the road, on the WC against one of the top 3 teams in the league. I'm sure the chemistry and the Clark loss has a little to do with it, but he's been shuffling lines (Chimera on the 2nd, really???) a lot too, so no one is getting settled.

Just a perfect storm, and I wouldn't be TOO worried. You are going to have stretches over a 82 game season. They should be fine once they get back home this week.

No need to worry, yet. It's a long a season and there are going to be a few bumps in the road. Just think of it this way it took half the season for the Caps to have their first 3 game losing streak. Pretty impressive stuff.

I do think they need to pick a new Captain as this has had some effect on the team.

Getting Varly back will be a big boost as well. He stopped 28 of 29 for Hershey but has some other minor injury hopefully it's nothing too serious.

And Tywright is spot on with the PP. They need to get it going. No reason this team should be blowing so many 5 on 3 pp's.

Wow, I was off last week (well actually since about 10 am on the 23rd) and I must have seriously cut myself off from the outside world since I just heard about the trade this morning.

Yeah I'm sure the players were as surprised as some of us fans about the trade so it had an effect on their mentaily to a degree. I mean they are human and lost their close friend and captain.

However, business is business and every year, every team, every player go through stretches where they lose (heck the Penguins are riding a 5 game losing streak too).

It's a shame Theodore can't take some pressure of young Neuvirth. We sure miss Varlamov.

Also, I'm sure the players know by now that the Capitals are looking to make another move before the trade dead-line to help put them on top for the Cup this year, I hope Boudreau can come to terms with announcing a new captain so everyone can start to follow suit w/in the organization.

Ovechkin or Laich, I'd have no problem seeing wearing the "C" as soon as today.
