I have no problem with giving him this. This is a move that needs to be made as well as bringing in a young guy who can grow with Flacco. Sign DMase to a 2 year deal and trade for Marshall or Floyd. Trade Willis to SD for Cromartie and then draft a TE, DE, C and CB. Offseason a huge success in my book and oh so easy to accomplish;):)

I am 99% sure Mase will either be here or in Tennessee.

As long as he is no longer the "#1 WR" then I am fine with it. He could become a great #2 if we get a sure fire #1 in here.

Mason always has been a great #2 receiver. The problem is that because we've never had anybody else he's had to be the #1 receiver.

I wouldn't give him 2 years unless his salary in 2011 would be next to nothing(like what they are paying Stallworth this year).
He will be 38 and although he hasn't really shown a big decline, it can happen quickly in the NFL and his injuries are a concern.
Really, I only want to give him a deal for 2010...I wouldn't mind paying him a little more to keep the 2 year idea out of the picture and with the season being uncapped.

Can't we give him a deal for this year that kicks in if he hits benchmarks? Like if he gets 65 or 70 receptions, then he gets another year automatically for, say, 3 mil?

If he wants a 2 year deal, I'd give him one. They might not even play in 2011. And they can always cut him.
Trade Willis to SD for Cromartie
I don't think the Chargers are just going to give him away
He has enough name recognition that someone like Al Davis will be dumb enough to give up a 2nd rounder for him.

I expect the Chargers to deal for a more established running back that is a bit younger than Willis. DeAngelo Williams might be a good fit. I do not see the Ravens gettig much of anything for Willis and that includes Cromartie.

Even Al Davis knows he has 5 RB's right now who are as good or better than McGahee. And younger too.
The Lions seem like the team who would give up too much to get McGahee so I would get as much from them as I can.

I think his Al Davis comment was directed towards Cromartie, not McGahee.
Regardless, I would give Mason the 2 years.

I would be fine with that just as long as we get a #1 receiver as well.

I am sure Mason has some good football left, I am not sure I would give him a 2 year deal. But, I am OK with bringing him back for one year.
