If I have the row 1, used for headers for each column. How can I make it that row 1 will always appear on the screen as I scroll down the rows of the spreadsheet?
Subsequently, is it possible to do the same with Column A, that will always appear on the screen no matter you are located in a spreadsheet?

click on entry b2.
Then go to window at the top of excell and click on freeze pane. You will now always see column A and row 1.
If you just want the top row, click on A2 instead of B2. Or just column A click on B1.

I'm using Office 2003, so the answer might be different if you're in the 2007 version. But you just go to the cell where you want to preserve the columns to the left and top (so if you always wanted to see row 1, you'd go to cell A2. If you always wanted to see row 1 and column A, you'd go to cell B2) and select Window, Freeze Panes.
