We, the undersigned fans of the Baltimore Orioles, agree that our current GM Andy MacPhail is not perfect. We are all still scratching our heads as to why he thought a declining Garret Atkins would be a good fit at $4+ million. However, we currently support Andy MacPhail as the Orioles GM and would consider it unfortunate if he were to decide to resign.

Andy MacPhail is arguably the best GM the Orioles have had since Pat Gillick. He has traded for, drafted or developed several players that will be long term answers for this ballclub in key positions (such as Wieters, Jones, Matusz, Pie). Although we may not all agree with all aspect, Andy MacPhail has something that has been missing in the Baltimore Oriole organization for a long time - A Plan.

Mr. MacPhail's plan is build his team around an abundance of young, home grown (or traded) pitching and to buy strong hitters through free agency when time is right. We sometimes disagree with the haste as to which Andy MacPhail decides when to purchase these free agents, but there is little doubt that Mr. MacPhail has a strong trade record while with the Orioles.

Andy MacPhail's contract runs through the end of the 2011 season. We the undersigned believe that as long as the Baltimore Orioles makes significant progress towards becoming a competitive team, that Andy MacPhail should continue as the team's GM.
