I think most of us either expected or, at the very least, wouldn’t have been surprised by some amount of regression from last year. At the end of last year he was biting on a lot of breaking balls down and out of the zone. He’s really tightened up his plate discipline so far. Hopefully, it continues. From day 1 he’s consistently had the best at bats of anyone on the team.
Had a couple of base hits up the middle last night, one of which was off a 98 MPH fastball, so maybe he's starting to get his timing down.
He's still not driving the ball too much yet, but that will come. I think he's close to a breakout game.
