    • I think so.  And I'm not sure if it's part of what Houston normally does, but trade some prospect capital for the piece or two you think you need to get over the top. I don't expect 9 figure FA deals, but if they made one, I would give them the benefit of the doubt.  As long as that 9 figure starts with a 1 and not with a 2, that's most likely okay.   I will be super interested to see what they do about Corbin Burnes, especially if Burnes keeps dealing like he did yesterday.
    • That was best case scenario for OD.
    • I wonder if they would give Mike a very minor share to lock him up for the future?
    • No one (by which I mean the press) has really put the spending question directly to him as of yet. Which is understandable, it's day 1 and we're just happy he's here. I did notice they asked him about the positive fan reaction and he said something like, it's nice but I worry I'm not as good as they say. And he has said other things like "I'm not sure how much I can help yet" (paraphrasing). So... I think he's subtlety setting some expectations, or just doesn't actually know yet what his spending power is going to look like.  I think he's also laser focused on his priorities of ground lease, stadium upgrades, and MASN.
    • That's what I'd like to see him do.   Not opposed to spending 100+ million on someone in free agency but it has to make sense.  Fortunately for us, DR seems to be the type to let baseball people make baseball decisions and we've got some of the best baseball people in the business. Really, the best thing he could do is give Elias and Sig (and Eve, @Roy Firestone!) blank checks.
