    • Surprise day baseball - he made some progress this afternoon. 6/2 K/BB, and 49 of 83 pitches for strikes.
    • Today’s fangraphs article on Kimbrel’s early season dominance.  Ben Clemens touches on Kimbrel’s historical numbers before dissecting his 2024 pitches, where Kimbrel is throwing his breaking ball with more sweep and less drop than prior iterations.  Notably the swinging strike% for his curveball has dropped off dramatically, but Clemens points out that several have been called strikes and fooled the batters.
    • Better than Dwyer? For the moment, I’d say it worked out. He has been a very good pinch hitter as advertised, too.
    • Yeah. I don't think we're disagreeing, but O'Hearn being a decent 1b and LF bat fills two needs, whereas Kjerstad is really just a bat that they'll try to find a place to play. On the other hand, if Santander leaves, there's more room for both. So I wouldn't trade Kjerstad straight up for O'Hearn, but the latter gives Elias some flexibility assume O'Hearn would resign at a pretty low price.
    • Some even months before the draft.
