Because the game ends when the out is made on the basepath. Never end a game with an out on the basepath. Give your team a chance to hit. -
Prior to today’s game, the advanced metrics have Gunnar at neutral or slightly negative right now: -2 Rdrs (which feeds dWAR), -1 Rtot, -0.1 UZR, 0 OAA. He does have 3 errors, which is a fairly high number after 24 games, though not outrageous. It’s still early in the year and he’s just a tad In negative territory, nothing to be concerned about. -
Actually Jackson and I are DM'ing right now. After we're done messaging, he's going to go straight to the cage and work on my suggestions about how to time his leg kick better. Talented kid, just needs some guidance. -

I didn't need statcast to tell me Griffey Jr. hit the ball hard with good launch angles, or that Randy Johnson had great extension and a high whiff rate.
