Really? Because Chris Davis is currently out OPS'ing him by a good deal... Recommending Alfonso Soriano for our defensive woes in LF is a bit like recommending someone smoke Camels instead of Lucky Strikes to fix their cough.

Tonight is a perfect example of why this team will not even be able to finish .500. The starting pitching isn't good, the defense is horrible, and if it wasn't for the long ball they would be one of the worst offensive teams in the league. Even with the long ball they aren't a good offensive team. Adam Jones is the only good hitter on the team. Roberts and Hardy can't get on base, Wieters and Davis are streaky, Reynolds has never heard of a productive out, Betemit and the rest of the guys are all bench players. Markakis coming back isn't going to make a difference. Defensively the team is a complete joke. Hammel has been great and Chen has been good. Matusz, Arrieta, and Hunter are extremely inconsistent. Tillman, Gonzalez, and Berken have been very good in AAA this season ... call one of them up to take Hunter's spot in the rotation and maybe another one to take Matusz' spot. Britton is struggling at AAA, not an encouraging sign. The bullpen has been exceptional. I'd start trying to trade Johnson, O'Day, and Ayala right now while they are doing great and get as much value as I can for them. I'd hang onto Patton and Strop as they are under control for awhile (I imagine they are at least as neither have been in the majors for long), and if Lindstrom has some good outings put him on the trade block too. Who knows, maybe you can get a team desperate for bullpen help to give up a good prospect or two.

If you think tonight is the only reason we should become sellers you aren't paying attention. Buck's brainfart is pretty low on the list of why this team should become sellers. Not having anyone of quality 3-5 in the rotation and 7-9 in the lineup and a horrible defense are towards the top.

Can we stop calling him "King"? He's not our player and not exactly the CY pitcher he was when he won it. Stop being impressed with who he used to be. I certainly wouldn't trade for him like some have advocated here. It was a bad loss tonight, but let's not start becoming sellers because our mgr forgot we have one of the best BPs around and when to bring one of them in a high leverage situation that matched up well with the opposing team.

Look at my post history. I don't just hover over my computer waiting for something to pounce on. But that said, the best way to not see a thread like this is for the Orioles to stop playing like they have the worst offense, defense, and starting rotation in baseball. I don't expect them to win every game. But I expect them to perform like major leaguers. Just play the game right and these threads go away.

If you do not like the thread, IGNORE it. Why is this concept so difficult? I find angry and "reactionary" posts such as EutawBomber's refreshing after such a screwed up and anger-evoking loss. Unless it is Tony or one of the mods, can the positivity police go bother someone else? It is not like there are 20 threads like this.

I realize things are bad right now but come on...I might not read this board for a couple weeks

The Orioles lead the entire major leagues in grounding into double plays and errors.

Some have far more than others......especially when they expect anything from a team full of bums.

2601. Gurgi, don't you remember I told you that several weeks ago. Now that you've reached 2400, the next 200 hundred should come easier. A lot of us love to be the one who pushes someone over the 2601 needed to get a bird. :thumbsup1: I'm guessing you'll have one by the end of July. :clap3:

When Andino can't even manage to catch a ball thrown directly into his glove, didn't you just know they were going to blow it this inning. This team deserves last place. Fortunately for them they will be there in no time.
