  1. Hey buddy, Been a while.. Of course I dislike the Yankees, i'm a die hard Orioles fan since birth. However, I like MR above, have a TON of respect for Derek Jeter, Mo Rivera, and guys like Bernie Williams (how could you not) from the recent teams. That's all. I "hate" the idea of the Yankees far more than i "hate" certain players.
  2. Hi guys, I haven't posted here in a while, but really felt compelled to after seeing this thread..Thoughts with the families of both men, and really hope they're enjoying the heck out of this O's team. RIP
  3. I'd be willing to bet that will be the case. Guys that were jerks like A Rod & Clemens, we'll all probably always have negative feelings, but Jeter I think history will judge him much like it does Cal Jr. I've just always liked Jeter, not that I root for him, per se, I just think it's hard not to respect the guy. But yeah, I'm all for the team going down, and going down hard. Sign me up!
  4. That's why it's unrealistic, Jon. I don't see him doing any of those things you mentioned. Surprised a Baseball historian such as yourself would have such negative feelings about a guy who's had a pretty damn good career.
  5. I already have a few
  6. As a long time admirer of Jeter, I think it would be awesome. However, as a realistic human being, I don't think it's feasible.
  7. WOW! I'm a proud member of both sites, and will continue to be. Granted, Rob and Chris are "real life" friends of mine, but I also feel like I have good relationships over here as well. "The Epic" has become a close friend, and that wouldn't have happened if not for OH. This will certainly remain the #1 site for Orioles info and discussion, but there's plenty of room on the internet for two great boards.
  8. Gotcha.. Seems like an outspoken guy, just like Andino..The kind of guy you love to root for if he's yours, and hate if you're playing him..
  9. He went to Ron Washington and said Wieters should play a few innings behind the plate instead of just pinch hitting. Great gesture, which we all appreciated. Now some are calling him a "piece of garbage".. How quickly we forget.
  10. Remember last July when we all loved Russell Martin for the way he handled the Wieters situation at the All Star game?
  11. The obligatory "The banner will be taken down" jokes aside, as much as we all know Calipari is shady, I like this group of kids, and they don't seem like bad guys like some of his players in the past. Congrats to those kids.
  12. In a perfect world, all the great ones would be like Cal, Tony Gwynn, Chipper Jones, Derek Jeter....etc and stay with one team their whole career, but those types are so few and far between in the modern era. Mussina was tremendous as an Oriole, no one in their right mind would question that. Sure, all of us wish he would have stayed here and not gone to New York, but time heals all wounds, and he should absolutely be recognized as one of the great Orioles of all time.
  13. The results of the poll really speaks volumes to how most of us feel, and likely will lead to way more cheers than boos on induction day. Someone said something like this earlier, but the idea that Mike Bordick (with all due respect) is in the O's HOF and there was potential that Mussina wouldn't be is silly. The fact that there's a "Yankees Fanatics" ad at the top of my page as I type this is quite comical. Congrats to all of the inductees.
  14. After his play since Henson's injury, absolutely. No doubt he has the talent.
