  1. I recall many, many, many discussions about pitch framing from catchers going back to the earliest days of Matt Weiters. Was Buck and Co. not fans of this idea or did they believe their version was the correct way to do it? MSK
  2. The super masked Yankees supplement. Not kidding at all. 🤬 MSK
  3. I took the man for granted. Not realizing that players that actually care about the team and the city are so incredibly rare. He showed up. He led. He played hard. He was the embodiment of a Baltimore Oriole. This hit me much harder than I realized it would. God Bless you Adam Jones. You will be missed. Much respect sir. 😥 MSK
  4. Technically yes. I'm only saying that the Orioles have no direction to go but up. As we rebuild, new talent needs a shot. Dwight joining the team isn't going to hurt us. I believe he may have some strong upside. We shall see. In the meantime, I'm watching this team every step of the way. MSK
  5. I feel that Elias wouldn't randomly grab a guy unless HE sees something that a lot of others don't. I like what I'm seeing in Spring Training and I know we've got a long way to go, but these younger guys are playing with confidence and poise. They're not perfect, but there's some spark in there. Dwight Smith Jr could falter but he could also blossom into something special. Gotta take the chance with new talent now. We've no other choice. Let's hope for the best. MSK
  6. And that's what scares me about the near future. The lack of strong prospects and a relatively barren farm system AFTER the trades. I thought we'd get high-level prospects for Machado but things don't look great right now. I see 55-65 wins with the latter number being a pipe dream. At this moment, 3 of the 5 AL East teams (NYY, BOS, Tampa) will destroy us throughout the season. Just the AL East alone will relegate the team to the basement. It's not going to get better for a while. We just need to prepare for what's coming. MSK
  7. Living in Los Angeles. In 2018 watched the Orioles play the Angels once. Was in Baltimore a few times. Saw the O's play once in OPACY. In 2019, likely going to see them once in Anaheim and possibly once in Bmore. MSK
  8. Can't argue that. It would be great if he could take a reduced role at a reasonable rate. It would be nice to see him play another year while being a mentor to the really young guys. MSK
  9. Forgive me if this has already been shared: SOURCE: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/adam-jones Interesting answer. Not a "no" but also not an endorsement of the concept. Would it be bad for AJ to return to be an additional veteran presence on a modest 1-year-deal? Maybe trade him at the deadline if he's on fire or let him finish his final year saying a proper goodbye to Baltimore if he falls below-average? What say you? MSK
  10. This. 👆 A never-ending cycle of finding *something* to complain about. I wish the man the best of luck. MSK
  11. Stumbled across this today: https://nypost.com/2018/12/26/manny-machado-bryce-harper-are-staring-at-same-money-decision/ So it seems Machado will end up on the Yankees as Buck predicted years ago. It would be terrifying if the Yankees got both. I might not watch MLB next year if they signed these two. Geesh. MSK
  12. There's not much else to talk about in terms of 2019 roster construction. Folks have to say something. lol MSK
