  1. Yeah, I'm not quite sure what that means. Is the writer suggesting they've made no effort to establish residency outside of Cuba? I find that surprising. VVM is 22 and surely wants to get paid (and started) sooner rather than later.
  2. The Yankees signed Vargas. A $2.5MM signing bonus probably helped. As Luke and others have said, the Yankees have committed money to many other players and are not likely to be involved with VVM. The Marlins are the primary competition for the Orioles.
  3. Mullins goes deep to leadoff the game. No. 6 for Mullins.
  4. He's definitely warming. 2-2 tonight with a double, 1 BB, and a RBI. Avg. up to .246. Bell is also 2-3. Andino with a big night, 3-4 with a double and a HR, 4 RBI.
  5. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5186895 So Trembley is not the first to go.
  6. I did not see this posted anywhere else, so here's some additional discussion about Taylor: http://www.minorleagueball.com/2009/7/23/960031/prospect-profile-michael-taylor
  7. Can't blame Wiggy there. He showed a good eye, but the ump decided to stretch the zone.
  8. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned the Bonilla GS in the AL Divisional Series game against the Indians. It's funny what sticks with some and not others. That's the beauty of the thread. I don't recall the score, but I do recall it being a close game at the time. What I recall most vividly is the anticipation, 2 outs, bases jammed, 3-2 count, and the release of emotion when the ball landed beyond the scoreboard. It was the first time I recall the Orioles using the bleachers in the flag court, and that's exactly where Bobby Bo poked it. Definitely one of the louder moments at Camden Yards that I can recall. The place just went bananas.
  9. 1. Ravens 2. Terps hoops 3. Orioles (admittedly behind the others because of incessant losing) 4. Terps football 5. Wizards
