    Leaving

Just wanted to thank everyone for the last 5 or 6 years that I enjoyed here. I am moving on. I'll still passionately root for the Orioles and discuss them, just elsewhere. I'll definitely miss the Orioles, Ravens, and of course, college hoops discussions. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to talk more. Adieu, Chris.

I'm sure that Sammy just wanted it to be known where he was going so no one would start asking questions as to his whereabouts. Dozens of posters have gone "missing" and then everyone starts wondering about him/her. I'm sure he just wanted the OH to have a way of contacting him in the future.
  3. Yup. Just bring in a water/soda in to the park with you, then just fill it up at the water fountain later. Filled my empty Coke bottle two or twice times and probably saved $10+.
  4. If I had to guess, some combo of Boston U, Coastal Carolina, Davidson, Charleston, or another America East school.
  5. ODU will be announcing their decision to join CUSA for 2013 today at 2:30.
  6. Should be suspended AT LEAST 5 games.
  7. Just idiotic....the CAA might have a 7 team tournament. Anyway, VCU having a presser at 1:30 to announce they're joining THIS year. In all likelihood, the A10 will have 15 teams (unless Temple/Charlotte can leave early), where each team will play 2 teams twice and everyone else once.
  8. Some rumors going around that VCU is trying to get into the A10 for this upcoming season. Remember that when Richmond left the CAA for the A10, they ware banned from the CAA conference tournament. Not sure how this would work, because Temple/Charlotte don't leave until after the season. I guess you could go 15 teams in the conference but that's a tough schedule to figure out.
  9. Every fan of A10 teams is ecstatic about this move. Outside of the Big Six, the A10 is the premier basketball conference. Like this year, I think it could rival some of those conferences (Pac 12). I heard a rumor that once the A10 knew Charlotte was leaving, they basically decided to only take one of GMU or VCU. VCU was the choice, and they took it. I can't imagine Old Dominion wants to stay in the CAA; I think they announce their intentions to join the CUSA in a month or so.
  10. VCU to the A10 for 2013. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootbal ... y/19042989 I'd argue VCU and Butler are better than the departing A10 schools (Temple and Charlotte). Honestly, as much as I'd love to see the Catholic League if the Big East splits, right now, I'm pretty content with the A10. If only we could just rid ourselves of LaSalle and Fordham...
  11. I am a student. High school and college students are going to to hesitate before having to pay the extra $12, because, to put it simply, they don't have as much money as adults. I saw a lot of kids walk away because they found the $6 seats were sold out. EDIT: Just to add to that, you can't purchase student tickets in advance (at least, I don't think you can). Sure, I should have gotten there earlier, and I'm not denying that. I just wish they sold more student tickets because, while the park was more crowded than it usually is, you could still definitely "see green" when you were inside.
  12. The Yard had approximately 25,000 in attendance. And honestly, I'm very happy with that. However, I find it baffling that the Orioles "sold out" of student tickets. I might sound spoiled, but I had to pay $18 for tickets, yet when I went into the park, there were numerous open seats in the upper deck where student tickets are sold. Why does there have to be a cap on these discount nights? Why can't the Orioles offer any student (or on Tuesdays, anyone looking to take advantage of the Ollie's Bargain Night offer) a discounted ticket who wants to attend the game? Honestly, I love the Orioles enough to spend the extra $12. But I can guarantee you that extra money probably turned a lot of people away because they weren't expecting an increase.
  13. George Mason to stay in the CAA. No word yet on VCU or ODU. http://www.caasports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=8500&ATCLID=205426308
