  1. Signing guys like Iglesias will help Cobb and Cashner re-establish value.
  2. The most important thing is to get a plus defender at short. It doesn’t matter how bad he is offensively. That will help Cashner and Cobb establish some value and get their era’s back to their career normals. It will also help the young pitchers that are likely to get a shot next year.
  3. D - only reason it wasn’t an F is the international money.
  4. I gave it a B. Ortiz seems to have a good shot at being a starter and Carmona has a lot of upside. If Villar bounces back they can move him for another high upside guy I don’t see Schoop aging well due to his low OBP so I’m glad they didn’t extend him.
  5. He is one of the best defensive LF in the league. He is far from a "positionless / glorified DH".
  6. The Angels are currently 27-22. They are 4.5 games behind Houston in the West and 2.5 games behind Seattle for the 2nd wild card. They’ve been going with a platoon in RF of Kole Calhoun and Chris Young. Calhoun is currently batting .154 with a .386ops and Young is batting .144 with a .549ops. They could definitely use Jones in RF.
  7. Good for Palmer. Davis currently (among qualified players) is tied for the worst batting average, 3rd worst OBP, and 2nd worst OPS. Fangraphs has him at -1.5 WAR and Baseball-Reference has him at -1.4 WAR. As of today he is the worst player in baseball.
  8. What makes you think he won’t get enough at bats? He’s still batting 4th/5th most games.
  9. ESPN’s Keith Law released his first mock draft yesterday. Here is what he had to say: 11. Baltimore Orioles: Logan Gilbert, RHP, Stetson. I've heard them with college arms -- Gilbert, McClanahan, and Ryan Rolison in particular.
