Redskins 2012 Draft Predictions

Recommended Posts

I thought I saw a thread on this and now I can't find it...

First round: RGIII

Third round: Trade into the lower 3rd round and pick up a 5th round pick

Third round: Ron Brooks CB LSU

4th round: James-Michael Johnson ILB Nevada

4th round: Lardarius Green TE LSU

5th round: Edwin Baker RB MSU

5th round: Omar Bolden CB ASU

6th round: Trent Stephenson G Okla

7th round: Jaymes Brooks G VT

I think Interior OL is our biggest need, but since Shanahan's zone blocking scheme is somewhat unique... he can wait until later rounds to pick up 2 guards. Latest reports seem to have Jammal Brown at the healthiest he has been in 2 years.

Yeah, I heard the chant. Good times.

Their original pick ultimately went to Dallas, as the Rams traded down again, to #14. I think they picked up a second-rounder for that.

Dallas got scared and traded up to get Claibourne to hold down RG3's receivers the best he can and now the Eagles trade up to get pressure on RG3. THEY SCARED!

I wouldn't mind grabbing minnefield cb from UVA if he's available in the 3rd.

Going back to last draft, the ledger could have looked like this:

Gabbert, Claiborne, 2012 #2, 2013 #1, 2014 #1

vs.

Kerrigan, Griffin, hankerson, and Helu.

I'd much prefer the latter.

I have no idea why Shanahan picked LeRibeus......... Most reports have him as a 7th rounder.:scratchchinhmm:

He fits the ZBS really well and worked with Shanny during the Senior Bowl for a week. Some reports are high on him, some are not. Better to just trust Shanny. :)

I do trust him. I am curious why he took him in the 3rd round though.

This pick makes me think that Lichtensteiger could be a ways away from returning.

He's now the 5th O-line pick in the Shanny era.

O-Line has been an issue since Shanny took the job. Samuels and Jansen got old and nobody was there to take their place.

Gil Brandt

SMU’s pro day was held Wednesday on a beautiful day — about 85 degrees, with little to no wind. Twenty-five NFL teams were present, including the tight ends coaches from Dallas, Jacksonville and Baltimore.

Among the players who worked out on Wednesday:

Josh Leribeus, OL (6-foot-3 3/8, 318 pounds). Leribeus, who was academically ineligible in 2010, was put through some O-line drills. He’s got really good feet, and he’s strong. He’ll be a third-rounder and he has a chance to start as a rookie at guard.
