He is having a poor year but the previous couple years he has been very good. He has been very good at home but terrible on the road. I wonder what the issue is. k's still pretty good so he most still have decent stuff.

He's been absolutely terrible. Just say no.

Highest HR/9 and BB/9 of his career. Highest WHIP. Highest FIP.

If PIT needs to cut cash (he gets 13M next year too), then I would take him off their hands. Obviously, Buck and Co. would need to look at tape and see something fixable. His Velocity is still good, so who knows.

I don't think the price for any pitcher is going to be low this season.

I think buy low mean we can get them. At any cost.

If the O's can buy low on FL, I say do it.

He wouldn't cost much as it maybe a salary dump for them. As much as people complain about us the Pirates fans must be worse they have completely fell apart and they had some very highly regarded prospects a few years back and never even one a playoff series.

Can't argue with your logic.

Also...

Buy high!

Lefty Drew Pomeranz. After some solid work in recent years in a swingman capacity, Pomeranz has put up surprisingly excellent numbers as a starter in San Diego, working to a 3.00 ERA with 10.7 K/9 against 4.2 BB/9 over 81 innings.

Pomeranz can be controlled for two more seasons after this one via arbitration, and he’ll be building off of a cheap $1.35MM salary.
