The actual front office string puller

I found this buried in an ESPN article. Take it for what it's worth. It might explain the lack of FA action since we all know Brady is in love with in house options.

Everybody in baseball is bestowed a job title, and Dan Duquette is the general manager of the Baltimore Orioles, while Brady Anderson is the vice president of baseball operations. But the perception of many within the Orioles’ organization is that Anderson holds more practical power right now, built on his long history with the organization. Duquette’s contract runs out after this season.

That's what I have been saying.   I expect the team to be dreadful for many years with Brady at the helm.   I wonder if he will still have locker with the players when he officially becomes GM.
