What's the point of picking on guys like Gentry and Alvarez?  The problem has been signing Davis and Trumbo to absurd contracts.

Once they become free agents too, they will get picked on.

Ruz wondering what being free agents has to do with whether or not to pick on players.

Not to mention wondering why Ruz speaks of himself in the 3rd person.

He's athletic and versatile, but he's been given a lot of chances by the O's and Braves and didn't do enough.  At 28, it was time to see that he's a AAAA type player, and the O's made the right move.

In order to get the 60DL players onto the roster (I think 5PM today is the deadline; maybe yesterday?) the Orioles have outrighted Sean Gilmartin, Gabriel Ynoa, and Corban Joseph.

They've also DFA'd John Andreoli, who was claimed back by Seattle.

From the MLB.com transactions page -- on 10/31:

Baltimore Orioles sent Sean Gilmartin outright to Norfolk Tides.
Baltimore Orioles sent Jace Peterson outright to Norfolk Tides.
Baltimore Orioles sent Corban Joseph outright to Norfolk Tides.
Baltimore Orioles sent Gabriel Ynoa outright to Norfolk Tides.

As of Friday, November 2nd @ 5PM ET, the 60 Day DL designation expires and such players, if retained by the organization, are on the 40-Man roster.

If there are no further transactions affecting the 40-Man roster before that deadline, the Orioles 40-Man roster will be full.
