Harper to Phillies

I still think signing Manny is a better risk to take than Harper. Only time will tell.

Agreed.    More upside with Harper, if he stays healthy and replicates his best season or two, but Manny’s the safer bet.

If I were Philly, I'd be saving more of my "stupid money" for Mike Trout, who would probably be very amenable to a long-term deal there.   The sooner the Angels realize he'll be leaving, the better off they'll be.

So if Harper gets 10/300, are all the ballplayers still whining about this FA market?  I mean, this is what they wanted, right?  Harper to get a big payday.  Might have taken forever but this is the deal the MLBPA wanted.

I don't know about Manny being a safer bet with two knee surgeries at this point in his young career. Might be just me though.

He's been healthy and durable since.  IIRC, they were knee surgeries that weren't expected to have a long term effect or create concern for future injuries.

The same payday that he reportedly was offered by Washington almost 4 months ago?

Guess he didn't wanna stay in Washington.

He doesn't seem to get along well with the old guard in DC.

One just ripped him the other day.

In Philly it can be all about him.

Or Boras telling him he could get $400 mil.

Yeah, maybe.  But if the Nats offered 10/300 and he goes to Philly for 10/310...seems obvious he didn't want to stay.
