  1. So, the Pads package. What would it look like with O’s players swapped in? Anyone who knows their system well enough game to give it a shot?
  2. Got the same thing all day. Tried different times throughout the day but wasn’t brave enough to click through to the site.
  3. My first thought after catching up with his pretty incredible performance (yes it’s only early March, I know) was: keep him as a starter and Wells to the bullpen really sets us up well with RHB pen arms.
  4. Manny, Thome, yeah that’s why those guys are the exception. We’re not talking hall of famer, we’re talking Ryan Mountcastle.
  5. The pitch determines where you should hit the ball. So “use the whole field” means don’t try to pull an outside pitch. When you do, it’s a grounder to short. If you are looking to pull more , that means you are hunting inside pitches. But with 2 strikes you have to go back to “hit it where it’s pitched. “
  6. Wind-aided, but also 105 mph off the bat.
  7. Another lefty hitting middle infielder. Just to push Jackson.
  8. Lots of good stuff in here. I say make a new thread of it so we can all discuss and such (and I’m sure some will pick every line apart;). I for one feel the vibes of these points are spot on, FWIW. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Ah, there it is. The Voice of Reason. And who’s surprised it comes from @Frobby?
  10. Thanks. I don’t know anything about the “mental health issue” he had when he went on the restricted list, but I bet, knowing what this game does to players and particularly relief pitchers, it will be a confidence game as much as anything. This first outing hopefully boosts his.
  11. I missed his inning. How’d he look? Anything to glean from his performance—pitch shape, control, movement, etc?
  12. In a short series you also have starters you can use out of the ‘pen. Does a one inning stint of Kremer up his velo? Does he bump a current BP arm off the roster? Is Gibson a long man?
  13. That’s what I worry about. Go get a real frontline starter and send him to the pen where he can get back to 96-97
