  1. Ha! This one strikes a chord with me. I was in Richmond va working for crestar and at 8 in the morning trucks pulled in and took out all the pepsi machines and replaced them with coke. At 9 in the morning we were told we had been bought by SunTrust. Apparently, replacing the soda machines was more important than telling the employees.
  2. Yes. Defense. I think Kjerstad will develop into a good power hitter, but right now Stowers adds more defensively.
  3. I just switched to directv stream. Love it. Only Samsung smart tvs have it natively, but fire sticks are cheap and work well. I also got glofiber internet at the same time. The tv picture is much more dynamic without all the compressing from comcast.
  4. I mostly agree with this, though I believe Stowers has earned that last outfield spot so far this spring. Maybe one or two differences in the bullpen based on performance thus far this spring. Henderson, Mayo, Cowser, and Stowers are showing they're ready. It's a great vet / youth mix that provides enough options to keep everybody fresh over 162.
  5. For a team that is in it to win it now, I'd take an established 30 hrs / year switch hitter and not worry about blocked prospects. Plant him at DH and the 3 or 4 hole. Cowser can be 4th OF, Kjerstad can have RF if they live up to the hype. If not, he can still be quality RF.
  6. Mine too. I met his family when Bowie came to Richmond and still have contact info. Seeing him play 3B and swing the bat, I think he is the next big thing to come up through the minors. Nothing against holiday, cowser, kjerstad, etc., but my $$ is on Coby.
  7. They have a dongle called Gemini that works as a cable box with apps, like comcast's boxes.
  8. From what I've seen of him live, Mayo is definitely better than adequate at 3rd base. I'd say he's a good major league 3B. Definitely a middle-of-the-order bat.
  9. Just a wild hypothetical question... if comcast drops masn are the games still visible on the comcast mlb package ???
  10. 3/12 Ed smith and 3/14 lecom ... may visit twin lakes on 3/12 also ...
  11. To me there's an important baseball value to be established ... can the guy pitch? Well? Every 5th day? Out of the bullpen if necesssary? Is he a 2-3 starter in MLB or just Japan? Bring him to camp and have him throw to Adley and McCann. If the pitching value isn't there, none of the rest matters. If it *is* there, evaluate the clubhouse and outside stuff right there, straight from the horse's mouth.
  12. This is exactly my concern. I see this having 3 possible outcomes: 1) they fail to reach a deal and the only way to see orioles games within the blackout area is via manipulation of ip address ... 2) they fail to reach agreement and MASN through a plethora of forethought uses the opportunity to become stream-without-cable friendly. This would provide them income from all Os fans in the blackout area but would drop the number of subscribers, since now everyone with comcast is a masn "subscriber" , but, theyd need to drop their deal with directv too for this to work.. 3) reach an agreement with comcast, but either a) less per subscriber or b) same amount per but moved to a sports tier. I fear #1 is the most likely, especially given MASN's poor track record thus far. ,
  13. I've always been of the mindset that as long as there's a above board legal way to get programming I will do it, but if there isn't I'll go find whatever alternatives I can to watch it. If there's no deal I'll be back here in March asking for the best alternatives out there.
  14. Our regular stops in Sarasota are twin lakes, lido beach, columbia at st armand's circle, orioles games at ed smith, sarasota jungle gardens, and Der Dutchman or yoders. Siesta Key is nice, as is the beach in bradenton. Pier 21 restaurant is good in bradenton, and you may want to visit pirate's spring camp at pirate city.
  15. Did you ever see him play defense? That's where is value lies. He and brooks made the left side of the infield almost impenetrable.
