  1. The hacks they were taking seemed reminiscent of some of the Blue Jays swings from about 10yrs ago. When we threw down multiple signs without men on base……..
  2. Agreed. Urias isn’t going anywhere until the end of May, but doesn’t mean they don’t adjust his role in the meantime.
  3. Elias has a bit of cover to go ahead with Holliday given Urias is terrible at the plate right now
  4. Hays, Mateo, Urias, and Kemp First - your point that every win matters. It honestly doesn’t. It’s not 1965 when you had to win the pennant outright. The WC has expanded so much it’s diluted the regular season. If they were 3-5? Fine. Holliday will be up shortly. They wanted to get him a couple more AB’s vs lefties. They don’t like having to send high profile guys down if there’s a chance the scuffle. Westberg starting regularly at 3B now. You can see the wheels in motion - and they probably want him to debut at home (although Gunnar didn’t). Kemp will be gone and Urias will be moved to the Kemp role. They want guys like Mayo to play every day. And he’s not a utility guy anyway. Mateo has a role because he can get you a stolen base when necessary. To - ya know - get wins. People can argue the value of that, but Elias likes it. So that means you’d have to be prepared to lose Hays for good with probably not a ton of return. Cutting ties with Hayes at the point in the season is probably a bit risky. Stowers, Kjerstad coming up and performing isn’t a certainty. Remember Cowser scuffled. Stowers has scuffled. Elias is rolling the dice that some sort of injury will happen because it always does and that will unlock the jam.
  5. Im confused. If I give you arguments I’m a clown? Or do you want to keep ranting that no one is giving you a reason?
  6. Uncle Rubie and Biscotti just donated $10mm to the bridge fund. The Orioles are NOT prioritizing money over winning. Case closed.
  7. Angelos family needed the Orioles for cash flow and to sustain their lifestyle. New ownership is more likely looking to break even’ish year to year and know the big payoff is at the end.
  8. 1. Fix the speakers in OPACY 2.MASN streaming 3. Lock up players/front office
  9. And Friday is supposed to be nice. There’s really no reason they should try and force it. If Friday looked crap I’d say might as well try to play.
  10. Probably because 3rd base John was impossible to negotiate with. I suspect Rubenstein continues with the concerts. That sort of thing can make the area a 365 attraction I think he genuinely interested in making the area better. Sure he’ll make some money on it - but he’s not gonna try and squeeze every last dollar out of stuff like the Angelos’ did. Maybe he’ll buy the Hilton. That would be interesting….
  11. The ownership change will help a lot. Many people simply refused to support the Angelos family. I have an 81 game package that I divvy up - I’ve had more than a few new people inquire. I’ve effectively sold my seats - I’ve directed people interested to just get a season package. 2.45 million is my guess. 2.7 the following year.
  12. If that’s true….you could understand the apprehension given Carlyle and Ares are competitors to T. Rowe. Not that there’s bad blood between the groups but you could understand the hesitation.
  13. 1. I don’t believe the expectation is to become the dodgers, but instead be in a situation where finances aren’t a major constraint constantly whined about 2. Why should we expect this? David and Co are completely different than Peter. Peter was a one trick pony attorney and still working feverishly when he bought the team because frankly he needed to. Rubensteins (and other owners) wealth is wildly beyond the Angelos and his success extends beyond his core business. His philanthropy is unparalleled and is highly respected amongst his peers. And not for being cheap. He’s shown her can compartmentalize a private equity skillset in a way Angelos never could. 3. I expect significant increases in revenue as changes are enacted. I’m getting constant questions about tickets from my friends - and only after the announcement.
  14. If they were 88 loss seasons, would that change your opinion?
  15. I really doubt Mayo is traded. He’s 21 and would’ve been a top 3 draft pick this year if he went to college. Ortiz is 25, Norby little younger at 23….but not 21.
