  1. I mean, no. At worst he can't even hit enough to be a fourth outfielder. There is a point in which the glove doesn't justify the bat. I do think there is a pretty good chance he at least gets a shot at the majors, but the floor could have him stalling out in the minors.
  2. He's 22 in Aberdeen hitting .234 with four extra base hits. The lack of power has always been a known issue and if the bat will play has always been a concern.
  3. I'll bow to your expertise even if it seems unlikely to my laymen understanding.
  4. My point was an overly uppercut swing isn't going to result in that low a launch angle. Not unless he is somehow consistently topping the pitches, which seems pretty unlikely.
  5. I think the Statcast data is way more reliable than the eye test it replaced.
  6. You are comparing Statcast's reading on one ball to Statcast's data on every ball Jackson's hit? A launch angle of 4.4 degrees is extremely low, that's Vlad Jr in 2020 low.
  7. There you have it, proof that Ohtani is better than Ruth.
  8. Am I looking at this data wrong? Statcast shows Jackson's Launch angle to be 4.4 degrees.
  9. I remember fall of 2022 when I was warning folks he might struggle to start 2023.
  10. The Angel pitchers had two hits.
  11. And he batted higher in the order! You fell right into his trap!
  12. O'Hearn walking frees up a spot for Mayo.
  13. It isn't just the money, they've got multiple guys that have done well in the minors vying for that roster spot. You going to keep them all in AAA for another season?
  14. Elly De La Cruz is 22, in his second year, and his "it" dripping off of him.
  15. If he can pitch out of the pen that'd be a big help.
