    Sure. To give an Orioles example, picking up Andrew Miller is a move that is going to be disproportionality valuable in the playoffs. Sure he's great to have during the regular season but he's worth even more in a playoff environment.

    While I do agree with you to an extent you can certainly make moves that are more targeted towards winning in the playoffs over making the playoffs. They might not work, but you can make the attempt.

    I guess my question wasn't clear. If you were a team in need of a CO bat, what would you give up for a partial season of Santander? He's 29, making 11.7M and thus far is playing at replacement level. What caliber of pitching are you willing to part with?

    It's sad to talk about how your team hasn't been swept when they got swept right out of the playoffs. Sad.

    I wish they would stop talking about the streak. The streak ended in the playoffs last year.

    He certainly isn't a bust but I wasn't happy with the pick at the time and I don't love using the second overall pick for that type of player profile. Westburg signed for slot so he's irrelevant but Mayo was a great use of the money saved.
