  1. I like the sentiment of the OP. We are getting close to the all homegrown lineup. Santa is at least a guy that we can say that he’s never played in the MLB for another team.
  2. True. When Means gets activated off of the IL is ERA will be 0.00. He’s not going to get handed a rotation spot, but I think he’ll replace Tate in the pen. I do wonder about the AAA defense. The IF seems really shaky and if Norby/Kjerstad are the everyday COF then oh my.
  3. I’m thinking we see this, Means for DFA Ramirez. Means will pitch out the pen. Bradish for Tate/Akin optioned to AAA.
  4. We’re developing Holliday for September/October. He’s done everything he needs to do in the minors. 100 win teams still lose 62 games a year. It’s funny how a fan base goes from losing for 20 years basically to quickly spoiled. “Two game losing streak”.
  5. Welp, everyone wanted him up here. Injury got him here. I can’t criticize him for having an aggressive approach versus Canning because he pitches to contact. The runner scores on the bobble anyway. The throw home probably gets made by Santander as well, and probably doesn’t get the runner. Overall, he’s a better OF than O’Hearn and that’s what we needed for last night’s game. We’ll get home for the Yankees series and reevaluate the roster. Maybe we’ll choose to bring up McKenna if they start a lefty, although I think Elias is happy he has him in AAA in case Mullins gets hurt.
  6. Means has to pitch his way back into our rotation. Not impossible, but I think Akin or Tate will be optioned for him next week when his 30 days are up.
  7. It probably was the easiest move for Elias to make. DFA the 40th man on the 40 man. We lost a MLB starting level OF. Call up our closest to the MLB OF prospect. Just finish out the road trip without losing anyone else. Get back home and reassess. We have a big series versus the Yankees coming up and I would not be surprised if we do use matchups to more than we would other games.
  8. Suarez definitely has a plan up there. Changes if the ball is moving in or out. Changes speeds and eye level. He’s also a good weapon to ride right now because the league is essentially getting a first look at him.
  9. An 8 lefty lineup, and with all that talent. I don’t think we got to 8 lefties even with Hicks. Maybe we did with Lester at 3B? Somewhere Bud Norris is happy he’s retired with all the LHH. Just like with the pitching staff and their health, things will work themselves out or some players will have to go to AAA. I think Holliday gets till the Yankees series. Or maybe we just bench him if he’s not hitting for those games. Those are big games.
  10. Suárez has a nasty pitch mix going right now. He’s getting a ton of horizontal movement arm side on his fastball. A ton of horizontal movement arm side on his Change Up then he can throw the cutter for movement to glove side. Enjoy the ride. Great for Suárez and the team. It’s a good problem to have. We could see Akin/Tate optioned with Ramirez/Baumann DFA’d if be. Wells also can be optioned. In the next 10-14 days we could see, Bradish up. Tate to AAA. Means up. Akin to AAA. Wells up. Ramirez DFA SP - Burnes, GR, Bradish, Kremer, Suarez BP - Kimbrel, Cano, Coloumbe, Webb, Baumann, Wells, Irvin, Means If everyone is healthy. We may have to see this because of options.
  11. Exactly. It also shows that Elias can get away from a platoon advantage to play talent. He could’ve easily just added McKenna back to this team. Kjerstad get his chance. No need for anyone to hate outrage over that anymore. I’m sure Banelos is loving this mlb time and pay. Plus the food per diem each day.
  12. We’re also all the way on the west coast. Banuelos was probably already with the team. With Mountcastle out with a sore knee we could see Kjerstad or Stowers. I think they keep Norby off of the 40 man until they have to.
  13. Norby or Burdick are the best fits to compliments the LHH OFs, but they aren’t on the 40 man. So that’s an issue. I don’t know where Stowers or Kjerstad fit.
  14. If that’s the case then we will keep Stowers and Norby as role players for next year’s team and deal prospects further from the MLB team. Prospects from the tier of Fabian, Wagner, and Horvath.
  15. I’m sure they’re probably looking at Ethan Holliday videos like we’d be doing and what they’re going to get back for Kopech/Roberts at the deadline. All things considered, I think got back a pretty good package for Cease, and with Bradish “ok” we have enough to get us to the deadline to reevaluate things. It’s always better to acquire the hot hand reliever given their volatility. I do think Elias will pull the trigger on a get us over the hump type move this year. Right now, the needs look like RH SU man, Game 4 starter, 2nd LH SU man. In that order.
