  1. I think that it would take a Mullins injury for Elias to call up Mckenna. Having Mckenna in AAA as a CF insurance policy is a good thing. I don't think Elias is going risk losing Mckenna again if we have a COF go down like Hays.
  2. Most WS contenders look for bullpen help at the deadline. We have a bunch of relievers that are good enough to get us to the deadline, and even for the regular season. However, I do agree that we need a bullpen ace if that's available this season. Preferably someone with postseason experience. I'm sure that will be a really short list if any is even available. Chapman?
  3. Friday - Burnes vs. Ross Stripling Saturday - Irvin vs. JP Sears (L) Sunday - Suarez vs. Blackburn
  4. Will we go with 4 lefties in the pen? Coloumbe, Perez, Means, and Irvin? Perez could be the odd man out since Means and Irvin can start if need be.
  5. It's not really negative, it's just there was talk that he was an advanced college bat that might only need this year to breeze through the majors to put himself in line to directly replace Mullins. With his struggles in A+ so far, that timeframe gap between Mullins, and EBJ being ready, looks to be bigger than just the 2025 season. Our roster is pretty stacked. We like draft picks/prospects, but are in win now mode at the MLB level. WS mode too. I don't know many teams that sell off their 29/30 year old GG CF while trying to win a WS.
  6. I didn't realize he was this close to returning. Looks like we'll have a bit of a roster crunch coming up with the pitching staff with Bradish, Means, and Perez, all out of options and due back in the next 10 days. Wells could possibly be returning soon too. Although, Wells can be optioned. Only Tate, Akin, and Cano, can be optioned with the current relievers. Suarez and Irvin are also out of options as well. Will we go with three lefties in the pen like last year? Coloumbe, Irvin, and Perez, were all staples of last year's bullpen. If everyone is healthy in the next two weeks... Burnes, Grayson, Bradish, Kremer, Suarez Kimbrel, Cano, Coloumbe, Webb, Perez, Means, Irvin, Baumann AAA - Tate, Akin, Wells DFA - Ramirez
  7. A couple of things that I find interesting, Yaqui Rivera - Acquired in the Tanner Scott/Cole Sulser trade with the Marlins. Juan Nunez - Acquired in the Jorge Lopez trade. Creed Willems - still only 20 and already in A+. He got off to a big start last year as well and then struggled the rest of the year. We're a little spoiled with prospect success from the college guys and HS phenoms Mayo, Holliday, and Gunnar. The HS position players take some time.
  8. I'm sure the Yankees would love Mullins at 4/80. He's the type of player that a WS contender would be looking to acquire and not trade away. GG CF defense. CF being so thin in the MLB. Mullins is a top 5-7 CF in the game overall. Other guys can stand out in CF and not hurt you. Mullins actually gains us advantage. It's a dilemma that Elias will have to tackle. Keep an eye on EBJ's milb season.
  9. We do have an option for Kimbrel next year. It's a long ways away though. The way our closers rack up saves he could be at 500 by the end of next year easily. Even in some sort of time share with Bautista next season. As we've seen with Means' TJ, there is no sure thing. We could possibly keep Kimbrel as an insurance policy next year.
  10. We've been also doing this while carrying Holliday's bat. Other than that, we have a Braves level offense.
  11. What option is most valuable? 1 - Mullins' value to us in 2025 + Comp Pick 2 - A trade package of what Mullins would bring back if traded next offseason? 3 - Extend for 2025 and beyond? I guess that probably looks like 4/70ish for 2025-2028. Which would be Mullins' age 30-33 years. Buxton got 7/100. This was the closest comp I could find with skill/age taken into account.
  12. He’s really matured as a SP with his pitch mix. He did that yesterday without his curveball. He tried to get the curveball going with Renfigo but ended up walking him.
  13. I think that Trout HR shook GR a bit and he never really got settled in. That and he had his worst command of the season. He will be alright. It happens.
  14. Another series W. Had Trout not hit that leadoff homer off GR in Game 2, then I think we sweep them. That HR got in GR’a head. This team sure is fun to watch. Never out of it. Job well done. On to the next one. Much appreciation for whoever does these series posts each time.
