  1. We’re also all the way on the west coast. Banuelos was probably already with the team. With Mountcastle out with a sore knee we could see Kjerstad or Stowers. I think they keep Norby off of the 40 man until they have to.
  2. Norby or Burdick are the best fits to compliments the LHH OFs, but they aren’t on the 40 man. So that’s an issue. I don’t know where Stowers or Kjerstad fit.
  3. If that’s the case then we will keep Stowers and Norby as role players for next year’s team and deal prospects further from the MLB team. Prospects from the tier of Fabian, Wagner, and Horvath.
  4. I’m sure they’re probably looking at Ethan Holliday videos like we’d be doing and what they’re going to get back for Kopech/Roberts at the deadline. All things considered, I think got back a pretty good package for Cease, and with Bradish “ok” we have enough to get us to the deadline to reevaluate things. It’s always better to acquire the hot hand reliever given their volatility. I do think Elias will pull the trigger on a get us over the hump type move this year. Right now, the needs look like RH SU man, Game 4 starter, 2nd LH SU man. In that order.
  5. In two weeks, we could have Bradish in the rotation, with Wells and Suarez in the bullpen.
  6. I’ve always liked that stadium. Our batters to do. The field looks really similar to OPACY. Maybe it’s the same type of grass? Adley sure liked it on that grand slam. Go O’s. 4-2 versus that team is good. I like that Butnes and Grayson are split up right now between different series. We get one of our horses going watch series. Huge advantage.
  7. 44 to 58 pitches. I think he gets two more starts down there. They’ll increase him another 10 each outing. Get him to that 75-80 range. That’s what Hyde said the goal was for the pitchers coming out of ST, 75 pitches.
  8. At what point do our bats start to get a little added bump in value given the success of our recent hitting prospects? Also, we’ll start to build a playoff bullpen at the deadline. It’s better to start the year with some flexibility so that we can rotate fresh arms. Remember that it took Cole Ragans for Texas to get Chapman last year.
  9. Burnes = Mussina If you wanted the O’s to extend Mussina, then you kind of have to want them to extend Burnes. In our current situation we can add Mayo to the IF mix to help offset Gunnar. We can replace Adley with Basallo.
  10. I’m going with Burnes. Pitching can shut down hitting. We have multiple bat options in the mlb/minors that can carry a lineup 1-9. We don’t have anywhere near a Burnes replacement.
  11. Nope. From this point in the season going forward, I’d rather have our guys except for Seager, Ramirez, Bregman, Altuve, and Witt. I’m glad @Moose Milliganstarted this thread, but I don’t think anyone did the yearly thread where they rank our players position by position versus every other player in the AL East. It’s an easy exercise. I guess the only other players in the AL East that I’d rather have over any of our position players would be Judge, Soto, Devers(at 1B/DH), Arozerena, Vlad, and Bichette(at 1B/DH). That’s not me being a homer. That’s realizing that we have a Braves type of lineup before the rest of the MLB fans catch on. But… good pitching can shut us down. That’s why Burnes is priority #1 over Gunnar to extend.
  12. Burnes extension is priority #1. Even over Gunnar. We have other bats in our system to carry a lineup 1-9. We have some SP in the minors, but it’s more backend guys. It’s not like Basallo, Mayo, Kjerstad and EBJ.
  13. A lot can happen in two starts. Worst case scenario is that Means is essentially a rule 5 player while he gets things figured out at the MLB level. That would just mean we’d have to option one of Tate/Akin for him or DFA Ramirez.
  14. We’re going to be favored in everyone of Burnes’ starts this year. Probably GR too. Extend Burnes ASAP. Witt is one of only a handful of IF in the AL that would even start for us at 3B, SS, 2B. Witt, Jose Ramirez, Altuve, Bregman, Seager?
