  1. Also checked Burdick's stat line to see why he was DFA'd, and he was somehow OPS'ing .788 while maintaining a .182 batting average. Weird.
  2. Bañuelos up for Monday's game for the day from the taxi squad. Can't wait for Kjerstad to show what he's got.
  3. My guess is that they take the historic game data for that situation and use that to extract the average value that the average team gets from that situation, and they use that to figure out what the changed value would do to expected win percentage. Not sure how else you'd do it.
  4. Per Ump Scorecards, going into today, the O's were the fifth-most negatively impacted team in the MLB. And that's going by their stats, which weigh missed pitches by impact to win percentage. If you were to instead measure by taking each time a bad call extended the opponent's hitting during an inning, treating it as an "umpire error" and making everything that followed umpire-charged runs following the unearned run rules, it'd likely be even worse.
  5. At points in this game, the MASN broadcast sounds like Kevin is taking a steel wool scrub pad to the microphone.
  6. For those of you counting at home, that's THREE RBIs directly stolen from O's hitters this year by umpires on blown bases-loaded ball 4 calls. We're in our 21st game of the year. So once every seven games on average, when it feels like normally I see it once every other season.
  7. No PH for Holliday? Ok....
  8. Aw, come on, he was at a hundred pitches and had just walked the bases loaded, you didn't need to pull him. This was just getting good!
  9. I'm not liking where we're going here.
  10. 83.3% chance to score a leadoff triple. And we left him standing there. Surely that won't come back to bite us.
  11. Two toughest parts of the cycle, done and dusted!
  12. Two for two in non-umpire augmented reality.
  13. Apparently in Kaufman, that rail fence is part of the wall? Blech.
