  1. O'Hearn is having a decent and weird start to the season. He's getting on base but only 1 RBI is kinda weird. I'm sure it'll normalize though.
  2. He'll be in there today by the first inning. That's also going to be his first hit of his career.
  3. I'm not trying to derail the thread, but I was 23 and my wife 20 when we got married. Working on year 25. Not every situation is the same.
  4. Akin has looked excellent in the pen so far, and he had a stretch like this before. He will not be able to throw like he does now in a starting roll. I don't think his results as a SP would be any better than the start we watched from Wells last night. Any hopes for helping the starters out will have to come from Means and Bradish getting healthy. I don't think Elias will be willing to give up as much talent as it would require to get 2 starters at the deadline.
  5. I'm generally a pessimist, but some of the stuff in this thread is a bit over the top. Everything about last nights game was embarrassing...the only decent takeaways would be Tate and Cowser. The fact that it happened during a broadcast where more non O's and Brewers fans were watching just compounds it a little bit more. Hays will get a plenty of chances to fix things, but he's as lost at the plate as he can be right now. Cut Mullins...lol. He's currently on a pace for a 3.5 WAR season according to Baseball Reference. That's with him being a bit mediocre at the plate. I'm sure he's going to warm up a bit as long as he stays healthy. Holliday, they seem committed to letting him take the 2B job. I think once he gets his first bloop hit or however it comes, he'll relax a bit. He literally has everyone and his brother watching his every move right now. Cal looked like a young fan watching his AB last night. That's an inordinate amount of pressure. The team needs a couple of pitchers. That's going to be an issue until the deadline and getting healthy. Wells just seems to be better suited for the BP. As soon and gloom as I feel sometimes, they're right on pace with their winning percentage from last year. They'll be ok.
  6. I like the simplicity of the score and count thingy with Apple TV also.
  7. I didn't know that they carried over from year to year. That's far more disappointing than the the game tonight.
  8. Tate looked ok today. Hopefully Heasley will be available to the other 29 opponents after tonight.
  9. This is a game that I would expect from the 100+ loss teams. I'm sure they had games like this last season but this is kind of embarrassing.
  10. My daughter just saved the day for me. I'm using her Apple TV, and I'm paying for her trip to Disney. I think I won this one.
  11. Dang it! I just got home with plans of grabbing a shower and pizza for the game. The family is in Florida, so it's just me and the dogs. This Apple TV crap is screwing up my exciting Friday night plans.
  12. What does Cal Ripken being part owner have to do with anything? Cal Sr spent 36 years with the Orioles. The team wore a #7 patch on their sleeves when he passed. Regardless of how his managing career went, he was a lot of what the Orioles represented during his lifetime. I don't have any proof, but most owners would have retired a number like that. I'm glad Jackson is wearing it, and so is the Ripken family.
  13. I've been on the Westburg bandwagon ever since he and Henderson showed up in Salisbury. The amazing part is, he's kind of overshadowed in Baltimore through no fault of his own. That's a pretty stacked team when Westburg is the fifth or sixth best player on the field on a given night.
  14. I really thought that was going to be the best team I'd ever see in Baltimore. They were really good. You can stop reminding me that it was 10 years ago though. It seems like yesterday.
  15. The last couple of seasons have been building up to something special. The 2012-2016 years were fun simply because it had been so long. This is different... especially for those of us that are getting a little older. They're young, so there's going to be some frustration, but I think it's going to be worth it to see how far they can go.
