  1. I think a big part of Holliday's struggles that nobody has really mentioned is all the hype. The kid's got to be really pressing at this point with everyone looking at him and wondering what's going on even if he's not really showing it. He obviously has dominated at every level of the minors but I think just getting away from all the eyeballs at the major league level will help him immensely. G-Rod had nothing to prove in the minors but you saw the difference when he came back. Same with Cowser.
  2. I don't see a reliever fitting the description in the OP being available but if they were I'd probably do it. Kjerstad could be a great bat but very limited defensively and I have no doubt Elias & Co. will keep that position player prospect pipeline (say that three times fast) filled. Beavers is already at double-A looking great.
  3. I don't think you'll see these prospects shoe-horned onto the roster just because they're too good for triple-A. The thing to do is either trade them or trade someone currently on the roster to free up a spot. Of course, you need a partner for a trade and nobody's ready to pack it in three weeks into the season but we'll get there. Seattle, Miami and Cleveland look like potential trade partners for pitching help.
  4. Brewers just doing it all. Hitting with power, playing small ball - got to give them credit.
  5. Bradish and Means on the way. If they don't make it, then they'll have to give up some of those triple-A bats.
  6. Might be delayed a bit but looks like a decent window coming in by noon or so.
  7. Probably not happening tomorrow. Might not be raining at game time but cloudy, cold, a little damp. Friday's going to be too nice to pass up.
  8. Sorry, I think it would be Skenes for me. Looked like a beast in that prospect game. I know the injury risk but that kind of dominance is too tempting.
  9. When I see a post like Tony's here, I think back to all the years when this club would get to the end of spring training trying to scrape together enough players to fill out the roster. Now they have the luxury of picking from several proven major league players for the last couple of spots. A new day.
  10. I appreciate him getting us Burnes.
  11. Unbelievable - here we go! New ownership already making a difference.
  12. The Orioles with this farm system and the ability to spend money? My condolences American League.
  13. I worry about him getting psyched out by Walltimore but if he can overcome that he looks like a mainstay.
  14. "Holmey"? When a nickname is longer than the person's actual name it's just wrong.
