  1. Just tried to access masnsports.com. I get the same messages. Either a 502 error message or a message saying the website is an imposter. MASN needs to get their act together fast. Just not acceptable if they let their certificate expire. An average 13 year old keeps better track of their tech stuff!
  2. Straight up, yes. Miami and Chicago would never do it so there is nothing to worry about.
  3. The WS have been unreasonable in their demands for Cease all off season. He is not a Ryan or Maddux. If Getz wants to move Cease he needs to be more flexible in his expectations. My guess is Cease stays in Chicago.
  4. Kind of amused at the packages that some posters feel would be needed to get Cease or Luzardo. While it seems like the WS and Marlins GMs are holding out for quite honestly ridiculous packages, there should be no reason for the O’s to give in. Luzardo and Cease are very good pitchers but they are not a reincarnation of Nolan Ryan or Sandy Koufax. There may be a reasonable package that the O’s can offer but to strip out most of our top prospects is short sighted. I am frustrated that Elias has not found us a top line pitcher but if the other GMs are really demanding what is rumored then no deal is the way to go.
  5. I know Getz wants the best deal he can find but IMO he is over estimating Cease’s value. He seems to be acting like Cease is another Nolan Ryan but in reality, he is a solid #3 starter with a concerning falloff in performance in 2023 vs 2022. Another organization will be rightly curious which year is the real Cease. I would not meet Getz’ apparent current asking price given those questions. I would not be surprised to see the Sox keep him at least until the summer trade deadline.
  6. I would agree to subbing out Westburg and adding Ortiz here but if I am sending four players to the Astros I want another name coming back besides Valdez.

    Just a Thought

I would switch Mayo and Kjerstad but otherwise this looks interesting.
  8. Yes, but trading Kremer still leaves you one starter short. This trade only helps a little. I would look to Seattle or Miami instead of the Sox.
  9. Hicks or Stephenson would be nice additions but I am not holding my breath. Seen this movie too many times and the ending does not turn out well.
  10. On what planet has he played poorly. Wow, looks like some folks expect Babe Ruth from day one. Can we give the kid a chance please? The O’s have a lot of young talent that is very inexperienced at the MLB level. Young players almost always have an adjustment period. Gunnar is going through it now. Ortiz has the potential to be a solid addition. Mateo was brilliant defensively last year but had issues hitting consistently. We survived that. We can give Ortiz some time.
  11. Do not forget Rob Neustrom in the OF
  12. Doesn't Bassitt require the signing team giving up a draft pick? If that is the case then I am a hard no. We need to keep building. We re not at a win now stage quite yet and Bassitt would not be the guy to put us over the top.
  13. I am not convinced Elias does anything. His penchant for secrecy makes online speculation a thriving endeavor but somehow there just seems to be more smoke than heat and fire.
  14. If Walters wanted $1.7M than I have to question who his advisor is. Maybe he truly does want to play with his brother but that number is ridiculous. The O’s took a chance on signing him but reality has to show up at some point with these players. Hopefully for him he has a great year and improves his draft standing for next year. Quite a gamble though as $1.7M is a very high slot number for next year.
  15. Just tracking the box scores for the O’s team in the FCL. The O’s staff there gives up a lot of runs. Tons of walks and base hits. I know the entire roster is young but there does not appear to be much hope for future pitching staff contributors for down the road. Do not want to be a downer but this is discouraging. Anyone have any insight as to what is happening down there?
