  1. I guess forever more he will be remembered as the guy who did not come back from TJ surgery
  2. Don't generaly buy into the theory that you can damage a young player by destroying his confidence by bringing him up too soon... but Jackson is not having competitive AB's
  3. Needs to tighten up the defense or Hyde will have to start sittting him We don't need much on offense and I'm sure he'll hit above .200 by the end of the season.
  4. On a positive twist I like listening to Melanie, having no clue about what she is describing, than later watching the highlights and get the Oh that's what she was describing moment.
  5. If I'm the O's union rep I'm busy typing up a complaint for making the players play in unsafe conditions. What is the big deal, cancel one game in April? Mets have already cancelled several.
  6. NO, and I have no idea why they are trying, starting with a delay when the "heavy" rain is predicted in a couple hours. Don't see the logic in that. I know they never consider the fans in these decisions but the players shouldn't be put at harm. Hyde is crazy to have Burnes even warm up
  7. Well what are they going to do, its not like they have any OF prospects to call up
  8. Oh he definitely can be worse than Urias and was last year
  9. Nor did Eddie Watt in 1970, and your point is? We are discussing a guy that is at the end of his career, 2 years ago may as well be 20 years ago. He just posted the lowest velocity of his career. He is a stopgap and the O's have all season to find someone for the playoffs.
  10. After his performance last post season it is clear that he should not be the primary closer during the playoffs
  11. I'd prefer a glove first OF'er to backup often dinged up Mullins and Hays, than another IF'er to backup nothing. We don't need another middle IF'er on the roster, we don't even need another LH bat, Kemp is wrong answser for any possible role, and his hitting has been trending significantly down for 3 plus years.
  12. Really, so our backup to our most fragile position player (Mullins) is Colton Cowser, but we have a really bad 2B to back up our young stud infielders + Mateo. Anyone can see that we have too many IF'ers and nothing backing up CF. This will not go well.
  13. In what world is it better to have Tony Kemp vs. Ryan McKenna Kemp OPS+ for the last 3 years 126, 90, 76 Hit .209 in ~ 400 AB's McKenna OPS+ for the last 3 years 56, 83, 91 Hit .254 in only ~130 AB's I'd rather have McKenna to back up Mullins, than Kemp to back up Westburg/Urias
  14. I was responding to the post that said Burnes replaces Bradish, it did not mention that we also lost Gibson So we have in fact lost our innings pitched and wins leader (Gibson) and our ace (Bradish) and replaced them with Burns, don't know how folks don't see this as a major problem.
