  1. Something about Cedric with the bat-- he isn't the biggest exit velocity or line drive guy. But, he pulls the ball more than average and hits the ball in the air more than average. That combo of qualities can make him look really weak when he's not squaring it up (lots of lazy pop flies). But when he's on, it also gives him his HR power and a lot of his value as a hitter.
  2. Not sure what you're referring to. There are a bunch of hispanic umpires. MLB's most public comments about Hernandez were in court when they argued that the reason he doesn't get World Series assignments is because he sucks.
  3. Did you see this Angel Hernandez special the other day
  4. When Grayson throws a perfect game. Immaculate GRod.
  5. @interloper they heard you. According to MASN broadcast the O's have stolen a base in 6 straight games which is their longest streak of games with a SB since 2010.
  6. Buxton didn't even play outfield last year and now he has to deal with Austin Martin barreling into his personal space every fly ball.
  7. Someone get Ben McDonald another fact checker. Earlier he said the Orioles have 21 team SBs, they have 11. He just said the Orioles pitching staff has the most K's in the league, they have the 11th most.
  8. I know it's Oakland and their situation is bleak from top to bottom, but I don't think they would be looking to trade him. Rebuilding teams don't usually try to deal their best rookies.
  9. The one thing I would be doing now is trying to move on from Urias to open up Mayo's spot. It may not be fair to them but the others are still waiting to see what plays out. Any of the four could be the first up for an injury depending on who it is. And while you can't count on an injury to any specific player, you can pretty well count on there being some amount of injury time from the MLB position player group.
  10. I think this is pretty likely to be our primary midseason trade acquisition this year.
  11. There could be something to it. For his career he has a .636 March/April OPS, .645 Sept/Oct OPS, but every other month is much higher.
  12. I think your point is right but I think that's partially because the bad small sample sizes bring out people saying x player should be cut, benched, or demoted. Stuff that wouldn't be a good idea based on the small sample. Positive small sample sizes don't lead to as many "we have to do ____" comments so they don't lead to as many small sample size rebuttals either. Except, I do remember a popular post last April saying that Jorge Mateo was the most exciting player in the league.
  13. I’d prefer to try Povich or McDermott first.
  14. I've liked Christian Yelich as a comp for what maxed-out Cowser career would look like. Time will tell if he gets anywhere close to that but I think we are seeing a glimpse of that player right now.
  15. Cowser still in. Days off for Holliday and Mullins.
