  1. Maybe, but you could see the potential in the first inning. He threw some good sliders and changeups along with a 96-98 mph fastball. His command was pretty bad after that though. I watched his first two innings.
  2. DirtyBird happens to be a great evaluator. He called for Gunnar Henderson to be sent down all April and May last year, started a Cedric is not good anymore 4th outfielder thread on April 1, and said Santander was an automatic out going into Tuesdays game. With his track record I’d find the odds on Albert Suarez finishing top ten in the Cy Young voting and bet the house.
  3. There is a middle ground between being the pitcher he was his whole career and being a lockdown starter for the Orioles. 1. The velocity (95-97) is something he never showed before. Whether you buy into the why of it or not. 2. We saw what he did to the Phillies in ST. 3. In one AAA start this year he threw 6 2-hit shutout innings 4. We saw what he did yesterday. 5. When he’s on, he’s good. 6. How often will he be on and can he consistently go 5 or 5+ innings? 7. I’m skeptical but we’re going to find out 8. That arm and even if it’s a 2 pitch mix (I thought I saw fastball/cutter/changeup) plays in the bullpen.
  4. No carr No carryover affect but this is a continuing problem from last season. Classic SG double talk.
  5. Let’s face it, the kid is missing a lot of fastballs, mostly up in the zone, but some that were almost middle/middle too.
  6. Sounds illegal and immoral but I don’t want to judge.
  7. If taking the over is wrong then I don’t want to be right.
  8. No, that’s Dirty Bird and OnlyOneBowler’s job.
  9. My takeaway is that Hays has been an awful hitter in the games he hasn’t gotten a hit in since the beginning of his career and very good in the other games.
  10. Yeah, not worried. Learning two new positions, some early season bad weather. It does look like he bulked up over the winter. I almost wonder if he over did it.
  11. OH aren’t stupid. Well, most aren’t. He had a horrible July. His OPS from August 1 thru the end of the regular season was .771. Your narrative that he’s been mostly awful since July 1 of 2023 is complete BS. No one expects you to admit it. You’ll double down using the July numbers to suggest that he’s sucked the whole time. Business as usual.
