  1. Maybe, just maybe... one of these games - we won't have to play from behind early. We should be able to easily snag 2 out of 3, but if the lineup starts clicking it could be an easy sweep.
  2. Meh. Santander has not been playing well since the second half of last year. He had a couple "streaky" months (May 2023 & August 2023) but statistically everything from the second half and into this season, is not pretty. We got some young guys (Stowers / Kjerstad) knocking on the door but are we going to just stick it out with him this season.... we know we are not re-signing him, maybe it's time to explore some options.
  3. I do agree with sitting Santander in LF if he continues to struggle - but the leash should be very short for Hays. We have young OF prospects raking in AAA right now. "Bring em out, Bring em out, Bring em out"
  4. I agree. The first 3-4 innings of our games have been hard to watch. A lot of strikeouts, weak groundballs, etc. Also., what I think that has really been hurting us - is that the bottom 3rd of the lineup with both Hays & Urias starting. They both have been almost free outs at the plate. and could not get on base or anything to get some momentum going and give the top of the lineup a chance to drive in runs. Hyde had to see this and how its costing us games and glad he made the switch. It was 100% necessary. But Yes - A lot of our hitters have been struggling but we haven't really had a chunk of the lineup pick up the slack. I think we are starting to see Cowser and Westburg get going and with the addition of Holliday at the 9 spot - The lineup should really start to click and start to produce.
  5. Didn't Hyde already state that going forward Westburg, Holliday, Gunnar, and Cowser would be starting.... meaning Hays and Urias are now bench players.
  6. There should be no debate, the lineup today should be: Henderson - 3B Adley - C Holliday - 2B Tony Taters - RF Mounty - 1B Mullins - CF Westburg - DH Cowser - LF Mayo - 3B But in reality - we are starting O'Hearn, Kemp, and Urias ....... good grief
  7. Look at what these "velocity" farm clinics are doing to young kids now. They advertise that they can increase your velo on all your pitches, etc. They are now having such young kids (I think even at ages 12 now) that can sign up for these camps and all they do is focus on pitching exercises that put so much torque and stress on their throwing arms.
  8. Who cares what the farm system rating is next year or two years from now. The farm system was built for the Orioles to be top contending team right now at this moment. Not two years from now. The top prospects are ready. What else left do they have to do or prove. The time is now. ME needs to move on from some of these guys (Hays, Urias, etc.).
  9. This has nothing to do with the pitch clock and everything to do with velocity / spin rate.
  10. We are in only in this position right now because we are not playing our best players in our organization. Honestly - How many more games are we going to go through with Hays, Urias, Mateo, and Kemp........ We need to bring up Holliday and another OF prospect. Although I am not opposed to bringing up Mayo as he can play 3B / 1B / DH. Westburg can slide into the super utility role.
  11. Gotcha! Figured that. Maybe they should be really cautious with Hays... that illness may be serious Maybe a trip to the 60 day IL just to be sure he'll be ok.
  12. Hays ain't hammering anything right now.... He's currently striking out 30% of his AB's and he's currently 0-14 over the past 3 games with 4 K's. Yes, I know. It's a SSS but even in ST he was struggling.
  13. I know - you can't change it but if i could it would be 100_WINS_OR_BETTER
  14. He made is MLB debut last week against the Marlins, so 10K's might not be the norm. He's young and throws hard. I would say he's very similar to Grayson with a 97+ mph fastball as well as a 90+ mph changeup with movement.
  15. I think we get a surprise lineup today. No Urias and Hays (crossing my fingers). Westy gets the start at 3B - Mateo at 2B. Gunnar - SS Adley - C Tony Taters - RF Mounty - 1B O'Hearn - DH Mullins - CF Cower - LF Westy - 3B Mateo - 2B
