  1. On pace compares the Past, while Expected to compares hope for the Future. They are not the same thing.
  2. His 5.2/3 innings was really small size data, however it must have been a huge psychological shot in the arm after all those years out of ML baseball. Another underdog to root big time for.
  3. In addition to an exciting team again this year there are two players who I wait to come to bat. Westberg and Cowser are to me real gems in the lineup for the Orioles. I hope others join them before the year is out in being real crowd pleasers in addition to some of the vets.
  4. I think Cowser is easy to root for. He looks like a baseball player and he sure is one. A new favorite.
  5. This is correct. It would be nice if we had more real ML hitters in the batting order like Pittsburg does.
  6. Then could we say, at least second guessers, that Hyde made some managerial mistakes?
  7. I was busy with first one thing then another so missed todays game for the most part. Does anyone know why Baumann was pitching rather than Kimbrel , very late in the game?
  8. Yes, I thought OMG that is all we need. Then I realized it was not his pitching arm, but, still, a baseball player generally does better with 2 good arms, so let us hope it was merely a spasm or cramp and is over and done with now.
  9. I used to not be happy to see Mountcastle come to bat as I did not have confidence in him at the plate. Now I feel much different. I actually expect to see him pull the ball to the LF corner or at least get a good piece of it.
  10. I do not like it because though we are winning by big margins, that will not always be the case and it is a terrible habit to get into. It tells me that the pitchers are very careless and are not bearing down like they should.
  11. Yes, nearly every year on paper one wonders how they cannot win the Division or be the Wildcard in the AL East. However, they manage to play just poorly enough to usually not get either one.
  12. This question has come on the board for ever it seems. I will answer it like I have the others. IMO his HRs / RBIs may not be as easy to fill as many think. I hope one of our prospects or another player will step up and match his bat. That is a switch hitting HR, RBI force in the middle of the lineup
  13. IMO they should skip Irvin whenever possible. I hate to think that in the Orioles organization we have no better pitcher than Irvin. Remember this is WIN YEAR.
  14. IMO the quicker we get Irvin out of the Rotation the better it should be for the Orioles.
