  1. Not sure what to think of the idea that they didn’t do anything to honor Angelos’ death outside of showing his name with everyone else who passed away. Worried he would get booed? Didn’t want to do anything to take any shine off of the new owners?
  2. His twitter account is great tonight. I love how he is respecting the “low man on the totem pole” as if they are Elias. That’s a good businessman.
  3. It’s really an amazing time to be an Os fan. Think about where things were just 3 years ago. Yes we had Elias and a good system but still, our OD lineup was garbage, the team won 52 games and the Angelos family was entrenched as owners. Now, they are all but gone, the Os are coming for a 101 win season and the amount of talent here now with so much more to come is astounding.
  4. How many ML teams will the Tides have a better lineup then?
  5. I have missed 3 OD since 1988. This is way up there for sure.
  6. He’s my favorite non/former O. He does everything right. He’s going to have a big year this year if he can avoid injury but that’s obviously been the issue.
  7. Great base running by Gunnar. Adley hates making outs on OD
  8. Saw some dipshit wearing a Yankees sweatshirt. Wanted to punch the guy.

  10. I know. I ask myself that a lot. I do have some good conversations on there and there is a lot of good content posted at times but if it went away tomorrow, we would be better off for it.
  11. It goes with his politics and the whole political climate right now, so I’m not surprised that it’s a priority for him and it checks that box. That being said, it should be a priority. I picked up on that too and felt the 4% stat was interesting. I definitely feel part of the baseball issue with African Americans is that there aren’t a lot of players that “look like me”. Now, that’s not totally MLBs fault but I do think it’s a big reason they tend to migrate to football and basketball more. Most teams are in major cities, where the minority population is usually high and while MLB isn’t ignoring this, you wonder if they are doing enough. Just from a pure talent aspect of things, if you could tap into that NBa and NFL talent and have those kids play baseball instead, that would be huge. Has anyone in MLB set up facilities in inner cities Ala the facility in the DR? It seems to me that may be a project worth pursuing. I know Ripken Baseball has built fields and done stuff in inner cities but I wonder if there was something more than that, if that would help? Getting someone like Adam Jones involved in a project like that would be something I would pursue.
