  1. No, there are times where his stuff is so good that he can get by without excellent command. But to be that good for that long, he’s going to have to come out and have good to excellent command on a pretty consistent basis.
  2. Well good thing I didn’t say he had great command every time. That said, he’s not going to have that level of success (and I don’t just means runs allowed) without having good to great command most of the time.
  3. Prior to last night: 16 straight starts of giving up 3 ER or less. He gave up 2 runs or less in 14 of those 16 starts. 10 of those starts he went 6 or more IP. His K rate is just over 9, the BB is about 2.5 and he has given up just 6 homers in about 96 IP. So I would say pretty often.
  4. I don’t want any of them. 1 win is about 10 runs. In these scenarios, the player is producing zero wins.
  5. Yea he has looked bad but while it’s fair to point that out, it’s also fair to point that some of this could be attributed to rust, an injury, not having a real ST, not playing in the field as much (I assume since he’s not catching?), etc…I think his timing is likely off and he’s working himself back into things. He has played 15 games. He has a multi hit game in 1/3 of his game so far. You point out all the Ks…what’s funny is all the Ks came in 5 games and he hasn’t struck out the last 4. To me the only thing that bothers me as of right now is the zero walks but it’s not something that would concern me long term.
  6. Nothing was working yet he threw a lot of strikes, had 7 Ks, only walked 1 and had a swingstr% of 25%. Plenty was working. However, he had way too many hittable pitches as well. Wild in the strike zone. 6 days rest may have been a little too much as well.
  7. What exactly am I wrong about? Enlighten me.
  8. The 1-0 pitch to Cowser was like 6 inches closer to being a strike than the third strike call on Mullins
  9. Grayson actually could still get through 6 if he pitches well and doesn’t throw a ton of pitches.
