Well, lack of opportunity is part of it. He actually has pretty much always had good hard hit numbers. My guess is that he has been one of those guys where his team focused on what he couldn’t do vs focusing on what he could do.

He threw 71% of his pitches for strikes but only missed 3 bats. He has to miss more bats than that.

Santander is an incredibly streaky hitter. He is always up and down. Last year he would go on a complete tear and then look like garbage for 40 at bats. Everything, good and bad, is exacerbated early in the season.

Missed a ton of bats and had his str% up to 63%. Good to see there.

Thats a good one. But Chapman was an established, over many seasons, elite closer. Kopech is none of that.

I’m literally the only person on here who pushed the idea of trying to get Kopech in the offseason but this is absolutely pure insanity. Who was the last reliever that netted a top 20 prospect? This isn’t even close to market rate.
