1.

Spank The yanks!!

 2.

I don't have quite the emotional connection to Brian that you do. But ... from a baseball standpoint -- okay, I got some emotional things for Brian too :-))) -- we need to keep Your Perfect One right where he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are ways to build a winning team without ripping out its heart and soul just because he's passed the dreaded age of 30! (BTW, can't wait until SG gets to that over-the-hill number.) And oh, did I say, I love your perfect one too!

 3.

I've got to take my hat off to you, wildcard. I've enjoyed monkeying around with sports rosters since the time I was a kid, when my friends and I would play general manager, and when following sports took up 95% of my brain space and passion. It's probably down to 5% now, especially with all my adult obligations (including 2 great kids in college) -- but I still enjoy fooling around with it. Back to this hat-taking thing: you're the best I've ever seen at this kind of stuff. I always enjoy your posts (yes, agree mostly, disagree with some, respect them always). I also enjoy the brain I envision operating behind the scenes. You are impressively logical and comprehensive in your analyses. Best wishes!

BTW, in case you might be wondering, the one place where I have the biggest disagreement with some of your posts is driven by us having a different "baseball-enjoyment utility function" -- current-season performance is a bit more important to you than to me. But hey, if everybody had the exact same taste as me, we'd all be in trouble! :-)

 4.

That's great. I did some free-lance journalism when I was in my 20s. My first-ever attempt at getting anything published in my life was an op-ed which I dropped off at the Washington Post building on a Friday -- and lo and behold, I open up my Sunday paper two days later, and there it is in the Outlook section (paired up with a piece by David Broder, of all people)! That was a pleasant shock. BTW, you're a fantastic poster, which I've noticed for a while. I'm aware of the Syracuse communications program. Their alumni list is pretty incredible. I hope it all works out for you, Mr. Runs!

 5.

both/all -- what year are you in? where are you planning/hoping to go to college? what position do you play? is the college focus mostly baseball or mostly academics or kind of 50-50?

 6.

My kids graduated from Wootton 2 years ago. What are your college plans?

 7.

BTW, weams, I've filled in Profile info on my page, in case you're wondering.

Hey, I see you're a freakin' old guy! You got me by almost 6 months!!! (My kids tell me I'm older than dirt, and the dirt is pretty damn old. That makes you -- I don't even want to think about it!) :-)

 8.

BTW, Chaos, I've filled in Profile info on my page, in case you're wondering.

 9.

Hey Chaos -- thanks for reaching out to me. I never clicked on this feature of OH before. It's all new to me.

I really enjoy reading your posts (and watching your avatar), even if we are at a little bit of a different point on the cool, calm, and collected spectrum! :-)

 10.

Hey weams, I never clicked on this feature before, and just saw the message from you. Very cool. Thanks for the compliment. I actually do less spectating than the vast majority of the posters, but do follow the roster stuff pretty closely. I'm more analytical than knowledgeable.

I enjoy your posts. I'll be keeping a special eye out for them now. :-)
