  1. Who pissed in your Cheerios?
  2. Quality of life matters a lot when you already have a good bit of money. I don’t have baseball player money, but I have enough that I would not move my family to NY. There are also tax implications that have to be factored in. But yes, most people like to see the dollars on their paychecks. I have a friend who owns a big electrical company and he is constantly losing people to the dollars an hour over the provided company truck with no maintenance or fuel cost and additional benefits. If you did a cost/benefit analysis, they are ahead where they currently are but people aren’t always logical.
  3. Or we could wake up tomorrow and find that they have signed Montgomery. Then you would have to ponder a long relief bp spot or a trade of Irvin.
  4. Trying to tame my frustration. It makes sense short term and long term for the team as long as the opening day team can hold their own the first half and the better replacements come in at the second half. I don’t like it, but I guess I get it. I should just be glad that players like Westburg or Cowser are not even really thought about much because they have players like Rutschman, Henderson, Holliday, Basillo and Mayo. Not that long ago we would be drooling over the potential of Westburg and Cowser who may very well be serviceable good players for years to come.
  5. It is BS and everyone knows it. He isn’t going to get any great t opportunities to hit lefties at AAA and if that was a real issue, he would be facing every lefty in the system for the remainder of the next week in simulated games. He is hands down better than Wong and probably starts the year better and has a better season than Henderson did last year. The reality is ME was hoping to find a trade that made sense to clear some room for him or hoped for a struggle of sorts to get the extra year. I hope he tears the cover off the ball at AAA and forces his way into the team by mid year and then comes up and finishes top two in the ROY just to shove it up MEs rear end for playing this game with probably the second best player on the team after Henderson. Of course that is ancillary to my want for them to win the WS.
  6. Although we all disagree with how he did things, he did it his way(Frank Senatra reference for you youngings). He seemed to live a life fuller than most will ever even dream of and he should be honored for his accomplishments and impact he made not only to the city of Baltimore but the lives he was able to change. I won’t allow my selfish want for the Orioles to win championships blind me to the good he did for countless people.
  7. With who? Rhodes is the type of guy that got a look with the Os 5 years ago to see if maybe he could catch. Hell, Urías, Mateo, Hays are all guys that can be upgraded internally now and are all guys that were the Rhodes type.
  8. What kind of world do we live in that it is entirely possible that the orioles could have the top two ROY candidates? I still affirm that Holliday will be on the opening day roster. Barring injury, there is negative zero chance he is rookie eligible next year. Todays lineup should give everyone a clear picture of who won’t be on the opening day roster.
  9. You should be on there for even typing that name. I’m willing to bet 1,000 puppies were maliciously clubbed to death by you simply thinking of him. Shame on you.
  10. I saw at least two called 3rd strikes on Holliday that were bad calls, not even boarder line. So that is also most likely taken into account. I didn’t pay attention to who the umps were. I would imagine that they weren’t the best of the crews but couldn’t say for sure since I didn’t pay attention.
  11. cant wait to hear how they spin it to be a massive haul. They got less than Povich++ when they wanted Basallo +++. I’m not sure if I prefer those fans having a total meltdown or them being so naive to think they won. I’m happy either way because I never wanted Cease on the Os. you could talk me into a 1 year 30mm snell deal though. I believe I said the same last year for Verlander.
  12. It has only been 3 innings, but maybe we should think about him actually making the team and having place. He has looked pretty good in his limited appearances and the movement he is getting, arm side run, he may have a spot on the team if he continues what he is doing. Not to mention Suárez with 7 strikeouts in 3 innings. There is something to this regimes pitching coaching. I know, I know, SSS and all.
  13. When I lived in that area, I had HTS. You at least have the option of having MASN don’t you? And I don’t see how you are getting to the stadium in about an hour unless your + is closer to 30-45 minutes
  14. I agree. I have been a subscriber for probably the better part of 15 years and the amount of games continually get diluted and the price keeps going up. Another increase this year, but didn’t pay attention how much it was. Anyway, I live 10 hour driver from Denver, 12 hours from Seattle and both are blacked out. What happens when As move to Vegas, they will be 12 hours away and will those games get blacked out too?
