We have been going for several years and will be there again this year. So here are my recommendations: Hotel - Carlisle Inn - reasonably priced beautiful hotel with outstanding service, only a couple of miles from the stadium. Things to do in the area - Siesta Key Beach, St. Armand's Circle, Mote Aquarium, Peace River Airboat Tours, too many other things to list. Restaurants - Gecko's, Walt's Fish Market Restaurant and Tiki Bar, Solorzano's Pizzeria, Madfish Grill, Der Dutchman (for breakfast buffet and fresh bakery) I hope this helps. Enjoy your visit.

One of the most incredible events I've ever been to, only thing close was the 2131 game. I'll be out there again today, hoping the crowd is just as electric.

Everyone complains that they need to get a backup catcher, and when they go get a solid backup catcher people are still complaining. SMH

Is there any tv coverage today other than MLB Network? My MASN guide says they're covering the Cleveland and Toronto game. I'm hoping that's a mistake.
